WorkCover Psychological Services
Expert psychological support for workplace injury claims
Psychological injuries in the workplace are more common than many people realise. Whether arising from workplace trauma, bullying, harassment, excessive stress, or the psychological impact of a physical injury, the effects can be profound and far-reaching - affecting work capacity, relationships, daily functioning, and quality of life.
At Cognitive Assessments Australia, we accept WorkCover referrals for psychological treatment and have experience working within the requirements of workplace psychological injury claims in Victoria and beyond.
How We Can Help
Our psychologists provide evidence-based psychological treatment for individuals who have sustained a psychological injury in the workplace or who are experiencing psychological difficulties as a result of a physical workplace injury. We work collaboratively with the injured worker, their GP, treating specialists, and their insurer to support recovery and return-to-work goals.
Treatment at CAA is tailored to the individual and may address:
-
Work-related trauma, including exposure to critical incidents
-
Adjustment disorder and workplace stress
-
Anxiety and depression arising from or exacerbated by workplace circumstances
-
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
-
Burnout and psychological exhaustion
-
The psychological impact of chronic pain or physical injury
-
Return-to-work anxiety and confidence building
Our Approach
We understand that navigating a WorkCover claim can itself be stressful and overwhelming. Our approach is warm, transparent, and focused on the individual - not the claim. We work at your pace, keep communication clear and straightforward, and ensure that treatment is genuinely useful rather than simply meeting administrative requirements.
We provide regular progress notes and outcome summaries to the referring GP and insurer as required, and are experienced in the documentation standards expected within the WorkCover system.
